Description

The Ohio University Department of Marketing in the College of Business invites applications for one full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Instruction. This position is 100% in-person on campus in beautiful Athens, Ohio. The appointment is set to begin January 1, 2024, although a Fall 2024 start date can be negotiated. The position is for a student-centered, innovative faculty member with experience and interest in teaching general marketing department courses such as marketing principles, marketing management, marketing research, digital marketing, consumer behavior and/or other courses as departmental need arises. Consideration will be given to candidates with professional experience and/or teaching experience in marketing, marketing management, marketing research, digital marketing, consumer behavior and/or consumer research. Experience teaching marketing (or a closely related field) at the collegiate level, in-person, will be preferred.


Faculty will be expected to teach 100% in-person on Ohio University’s main campus in Athens, OH. There are no online courses available and no opportunity to teach remotely. Assistant Professors of Instruction typically have a seven course (21 credit hours) teaching load per year.

This open position is for an instructional faculty member. There is no opportunity for this position to become a tenure track position and there is no career path to transition between instructional and tenure track positions. Each is a distinct and separate role within the COB and requires different qualifications, credentials, experience and competitive application to open positions.

Salaries for the appointment are competitive based on AACSB statistics and the candidate’s credentials.

Minimum Qualifications
A master’s degree in business or marketing is required by start date.
