Procter & Gamble Health Care is looking for a sensory scientist to help drive the objective (non-consumer based) sensory programs across the Personal Health Care & Oral Care businesses. This role offers the opportunity to conduct sensory research with top industry recognized sensory scientists, and to work with diverse product development teams to design new products, develop robust claim support, and develop and leverage new sensory methods. The Health Care business has historically delivered strong growth and the business is anticipating continued growth in future years. Important responsibilities of this role include: working with teams to design sensory studies to support product development, develop new sensory methods based on the needs and objectives of research, work with teams to iterate through prototype assessments, work with Descriptive Analysis Panel leaders to train, maintain, and develop descriptive capability, train and transfer methods to manufacturing sites, summarize results, and leverage sensory results to make informed, actionable business recommendations. Additionally, the individual that fills this role will be responsible for Sensory Master Data and Methods (maintaining and programming corporate product database software) across the Research and Development and Manufacturing functions.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate will:
- Have experience in the selection, training and qualification of Descriptive Analysis Panels
- Be agile and flexible and able to solve problems and resolve conflicts in an effective and timely manner and to embrace change quickly to enable team and projects to meet business goals
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to consolidate, interpret and present data, conclusions, recommendations in both written and oral formats
- Have the ability to collaborate with project partners from a diverse set of functions including Products Research, Technologist, material developers and process engineers across all levels of the organization
- Have experience in experimental design and applying critical thinking techniques to ensure that experiments deliver against the research objective and/or scientific question in the most efficient and effective design
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Sensory Science or related field with a Sensory emphasis, e.g. Food Science, Neuroscience, Physiology, Psychology. A bachelor’s degree with 3 years experience in the field will also be considered.
- Experience with design, set up and coordination of objective sensory experiments and studies
- Experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis to solve defined business problems and understand sensory perception of products
- Proficiency in digital technology and applications is desired but not required
- Currently reside within commuting distance to the office or have the ability to relocate to Cincinnati, Ohio – “generous relocation benefit provided”
